The Library has the following service units.
SJBIT Library provides lending service to both the faculty and students. All the books are bar coded and barcode scanners are used for issue and return of the books. Bar Coded ID cards are issued to all the library members. The student members of the library can borrow books for a period of 15 days. The faculty can borrow Eight books for a period of 90 days. The users are requested to return the borrowed books to the library on or before the due date to avoid the penalty of Over Due Charges. Members are requested to obtain the NO DUE CERTIFICATE from the library at the end of the course or service.
SJBIT Library has a rich collection of books in reference section for its users. Previous year question papers, GRE, GATE & TOEFL Books, Dictionaries, Atlas, Encyclopedias & Handbooks are available for Reference.
Students in need of depth & diverged information will be referred to use other reputed libraries like IISc, ISRO, NAL, IIMB etc. Our Library has taken the Institutional Membership of British Council Library, Bengaluru, DELNET (Developing Library Network) & National Digital Library of India.
The Library Circulation System is automated using Libsoft 12.0 Software OPAC. Barcoded ID Cards have been issued to all the Members.
Renewals are allowed only when there is no claim by others.
A borrowed book if recalled by the Librarian has to be returned immediately
A Photocopier has been added to Library for the benefit of users.
The available e- material in the SJBIT digital library can be accessed by logging into the digital library and selecting material Category Digital library. Faculty and student who are interested to upload the material which are published by them, often used by them can e-mail the articles, drawing etc., to the following address librarian@sjbit.edu.in

The Central Library functions on all working Days except National Holidays.

All the question papers of VTU exams are scanned and e-question papers are uploaded in the web. users can access the question papers from their desktops anywhere. The, Users can download or they can save the question papers on their CD’s/pen drives. (

Registered members can issue books for home study except reference during circulation hours. Issued books can also be renewed online subject to the reservation against the book and max. Limit.
